Dear Duncan Mighty, it is time to slow down with the collaborations

For every three songs released, a Duncan Mighty feature is found. Even though, it was refreshing at first, a burn out is now visible and he needs to slow it down.

On Tuesday, August 21st, the much anticipated collaboration, 'Aza' by Davido, Duncan Mighty and Peruzzi was released, but unlike the wow effect his previous power features created, the reactions that have since followed suggests that it may be time the Port Harcourt flagbearer becomes more intentional with the choice of song he jumps on.

Duncan Mighty is the flavour of the Nigerian Music industry presently and it is no surprise that everyone seeks a bit of his magic.

His technical proficiency on hooks is truly stunning. The way he chants his native language is attimes enchanting and his vocals deliver a gripping piece of musical bliss on a given day.

From the moment he blessed Wizkid with a feature on Fake Love, which became an instant hit, Duncan Mighty has been on the list of 'must-work-with-to-get-a-hit' by every artist seeking a guaranteed mainstream record.

Duncan Mighty  (Instagram/DuncanMighty)

But this is not peculiar to him as it often happens to every 'newly discovered hit-maker' or any artist who has the ability to deliver the right hook or verse in turning an otherwise average record into an anthem.

When 2face Idibia emerged on the scene, everyone wanted a piece of him, it was no different for Ruggedman after he stirred the hostile waters with Ehen, a verse from him was the holy grail that rappers sought, the likes of Wizkid and Olamide have also passed through this route and internationally, names like RihannaAkonTPain were most prominent during the time of their come-up.

But as great as putting out more music sound, less can actually be more especially for an artist like Duncan Mighty, who is not exactly a newbie.

For long, his legacy powered by his talent has also been fuelled by this myth around his music with the conservative stance that he chose, remaining in his Port Harcourt region at a time when every artist jumped on the next bus to Lagos.

Duncan Mighty should slow down, they are just about to rubbish him. This Aza has just got to be his wackest song ever. That Frog should have allowed only Peru and Duncan bang. He spoilt it with his random shouting up and down!!!

Duncan Mighty has to calm down on the Features, if he continues like this he"ll rush out of this fame. He should be selective with Features at least not every song he should jump on

Duncan Mighty needs to take it easy with the collaborations. It's not everyone who asks for a feature that deserves a hook or verse.

It is understandable when artists try to cash in as much as possible on their '15minutes of fame', but there is a greater risk of early burnout as against a sustained period of influence.

From May, when he enjoyed a 'rebirth' of a sort with the release of Fake Love, Duncan Mighty has featured on over 15 released songs in the last three months.

An average of 4 songs every month, one song per week and while he has scored some hits along the way, evidently there have been misses as well.

The past few features especially are becoming far too predictable, less intimate and not as refreshing as the chants were.

The majority of his features are tied around the same topic, ''Love'', so his lyrics are also becoming repetitive and you find him even bringing back lines from his old songs like he did on Lova Lova with Tiwa Savage, with the lyrics, ''If I break your heart, it's like oil spillage'', originally used in the song 'Killing me softly' released on his last studio album, The Certificate.

Duncan Mighty and Davido  (Instagram/DuncanMighty)

Outside the fact that he delivered a stellar verse on Fake Love, one thing that also worked in the favour of the Wene Mighty was that listeners had become tired of the saturated and now monotonous 'Shaku Shaku' vibe, and the world hadn't heard from him in quite some time, so his sound was a breathe of fresh air allowing his fans enough time to fully soak up his melody.

There was also the feeling of nostalgia that music lovers who listened to him when he released his debut album, Koliwater in 2008 could associate with.

But 15 features down the line and there is no evolving, little experimenting and everything is starting to sound the same, and heading for the stale door faster than the last trend did.

The attraction of the now is blinding the brilliance of his creativity, and preventing him from taking time to rebooth and deliver more special offerings.

So yeah, we understand that the newly found attraction is good and acknowledge his work ethic, but it will be interesting to see him take a few steps back, be more selective with the collaborations he jumps on and judging by how he has consistently delivered a new project every two years, maybe power that energy into releasing another defining body of work before the end of the year.

To leave a legacy, Duncan Mighty doesn't necessarily have to be ubiquitous on every song, but for his songs to meaningfully live longer, have more gripping effect and consistently remain on listener's playlists and in their hearts.

6 Things You Should Remove From Your Life If You Really Want To Succeed (No. 3 Is Very Important

Not everything you loos is a loss. Sometimes we have to give up everything that’s killing us even if it’s killing us to let go. Once we remove the old, we automatically create space for the new.

1. Guilt

Let’s start by removing guilt. Guilt is to the spirit what gain is it to the body? Mistakes are always forgivable if we’re courageous enough to admit them and remember the best apology to ourselves or anyone else is “changed behavior”.

2. Excuses

It’s time to remove excuses. Excuses are the lies we tell ourselves so that we don’t have to think anything is our fault.

3. Negative People.

It’s time to remove negative people. You literally don’t have to be friends with anyone who doesn’t supports you and still brings your energy down. It’s okay to outgrow anyone who is not growing. Some people are better left in the past no matter how much you want them to be there with you in your present.

4. Anxiety

It’s time to remove anxiety. Anxiety is like sitting in a rocking chair. It give you something to do but does’t get you anywhere. Over thinking kills and ruins you. It ruins the situations, it twists things around, it makes you worry and also makes everything worse than it actually is.

5. Negative Self Talk

It’s time to remove negative self talk. We’re defined by the stories we tell ourselves every single day moment to moment. “I’m not good enough” “I can’t do this” “It’s not meant for me.” Try to recognize when a phase, a life stage, a job, or a relationship is over and let it go. Moving on doesn’t have to be a dramatic event. You can simply choose to move forward with peace and clarity and never remove yourself from the equation because whatever happens to you then, nothing will ever add up.

6. Pleasing People

Stop trying to please everyone. We loose ourselves try to please everyone else, and then loose everyone trying to find ourselves.

Which Do You Think Is Seriously Affecting Your Own Life?

Real men do one round and sleep; jobless ones release all their poverty inside

According to Pat Ugwu, it is only jobless men who spend a whole night having sex with their partners because they want to release all their poverty and frustrations inside the women.

While some women lament over their partners’ inability to satisfy them or spend sufficient time making love with them, claiming to be exhausted, a Nollywood actress claims such men are the real men.

According to Pat Ugwu, it is only jobless men who spend a whole night having sex with their partners because they want to release all their poverty and frustrations inside the women.

The curvaceous actress resorted to Instagram to say: “Real men do one round and sleep. But the jobless ones will hit it overnight like they are releasing their poverty inside ur hunny pot.”

She apparently thought she was attacking men, but some fellow women will vehemently disagree with her. There have been instances where women have sought divorce because their partners could not go beyond one round of sex.

Linda Ikeji is HEARTBROKEN as her babay daddy Sholaye Jeremi allegedly rejects her and the new baby

Africa most popular and richest blogger Linda Ikeji has suffered serious heartbreak as her baby daddy, Sholaye Jeremi has allegedly rejected the new mum and her baby and he wants nothing doing with her.

According to the reports, the millionaire Sholaye Jeremi has another woman that he is more romantically involved with and she is no other than a former model and owner of Beth Africa Modelling Agency, Elizabeth Elohor.

“He prefers Elohor and the two are an item. He has vowed not to have anything to do with Linda and her family. Maybe what made him more furious was the fact that Linda made her baby’s name public and used Sholaye’s name. She should have gotten approval to do that, You don’t thrust a baby at a man who has denied paternity of that baby from the outstet,”

Elohor, who is a divorced mum of two, is currently in Italy and rumoured to be pregnant. She is said to be the woman Sholaye’s heart pants after.

“Elohor is more reserved, quiet in the media and exhibits no drama unlike the Ikeji family. No serious businessman will want to have anything do with either a Linda or her loud family whoselife is all on the social media for all to read,” the source said.

Since Linda was delivered of her baby Jayce Jeremi on Monday, September 17, 2018, it has been an outbreak of news on paternity and whether she had the baby naturally or through a surrogate. A very private person, Sholaye, who is an Itsekiri guy was said to have dated Lagos socialite, Alali Hart, a beauty entrepreneur who runs Montaigne Place.

In his 40s, Sholayemi who lives in Ikoyi where Linda Ikeji also stays, is on a first name basis with quite a number of money bags such as Femi Otedola, former governor of Delta State, Emmanuel Uduaghan, Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu etc.

Meanwhile, Kemi Olunloyo seems to have so much negativity to pump into Linda Ikeji’s life as she has blatantly refused to give up on her course

In light of new findings, the investigative journalist has shed more light on Linda Ikeji’s relationship and pregnancy as she spurs out more tantrums on the blogger.

Just last night, the Kemi Olunloyo camp released fresh reports insinuating that Linda has actually been abandoned and rejected by the man responsible for her pregnancy.

In her words;

The blogger who dragged every celebrity is now being blogged. #lindaisnotpregnant

#RepostSave @naijagistlive2018 with @repostsaveapp ・・・ This two stupid old buffouns have been fucking since 2016 off and on. Both are desperate social climbers who understand what it means to do the needful to belong to the upper class. Sholaye was a ratchet model back in the UK and Linda also a local info girl that started her career modelling.

So you see why I called them two overgrown buffouns. they are actually birds of the same feather but I can assure you they will never flock together. Sholaye is known for wanting to be seen with daughter of the rich, older successful women and the likes. He will drive his rolls Royce around town whenever he needs to prove a point.

Yet he lives in a rented apartment in parkview ikoyi. Sholaye the pimp and house boy of Femi Otedola, Dangote, Musa Danjuma, Terry Wayas and more has no plans of marrying Aunty Linda. Linda thought she had found Prince charming. she left her brain in her banana island mansion which was bought by an Oil Magnate BP (if you know, You know ) and jumped into the hands of a man who is the typical definition of a cheap pie, so greasy and smooth at the top with all kinds of rubbish inside.

as we speak right now, Linda has been begging Sholaye to save her the embarrassment contrary to her stupid epistles she has been writing these past days. LINDA IKEJI is actually shook to her bones, Her entire family especially her father has done everything to make Sholaye marry her and he blatantly said NO.

Linda I am sorry to break the news to you, You are a rejected BABY MAMA just like all the other ones you have made fun off. Your struggling sister and her stupid husband can bearly feed themselves that is why the only work she can do is to the be family’s town crier. Kemi Olulonyo. aka madam KOO is not as Crazy as you think she has the juice and she will spoil appropriately watch out.

“He’s currently seeing a very decent lady who’s divorced and he was said to have been begged by Linda’s parents to marry Linda.

He has refused bluntly and has not picked any calls from the Ikejis. He was said to have blocked Linda from reaching him too.

SHOCKING: The real cause of Dagrin’s death

Dagrin’s death: It’s been six years since rapper since Olaitan Olanipekun, famously known as Dagrin passed on from injuries sustained in a ghastly car crash in Mushin, but the nation keeps talking about him. Now, new findings have revealed that the Nigerian police in the area might have been responsible for his death.

Residents in Mushin in a new interview with SaharaReporters, blamed the fatal night-time crash on the Nigerian police in Alakara station.

According to them, Policemen at the Alakara Police Command in the Mushin area of Lagos State are notorious for illegal raiding, bribery, and even escapades of what some call ‘murder at night’.

“I was there that night, and we did not even know at first that it was anyone (famous) like that. We were only helping to remove his body and to rescue him,” a young witness told the website.

“What actually happened that night was that the policemen had stopped the cement truck at the middle of road, and of course, they could only be asking for a bribe.

“Unfortunately, the truck had no rear light, (of any kind,) and so the oncoming car was unaware of any vehicle ahead. It just rammed head on, into it from the back.

“It rammed into the truck hard without holding the brakes at all, and that is because the truck in its front, had no light to show anything was there.

“So after we removed the body, we realized it was Da Grin, and he was groaning. They asked the truck driver to move forward and park out off of the road. They then moved Da Grin’s car afterwards so it would then look like he went to hit the truck where it parked.

“We were not thinking about all these as an attempt to change the story. We were only concerned about helping the victim of an accident, and by when they finished their artificial story, the world was only waiting for Da Grin’s recovery. But news broke later that he had died at the hospital.

“What made their story work was that the car did not hold its breaks, so there was no sign of screeching on the ground. Otherwise, the marks of friction from the tyres would be in the spot where it was removed, before parking it, and rearranging the scene.

“They did everything very fast, and by morning, they were no longer the cause of the accident.) Just like on Tuesday night, that they scared everyone away, and washed the blood stains of their victim within a brief period,” the young man continued.

“Of course, they caused the accident that killed Da Grin. And that is how they commit so much atrocities here in Mushin that the public will not know about, or what the truth is.

“We live here and we see them live, every time.”

The Alakara policemen are described as very apt, and swift, in immediately ‘cleaning up’ their dirty business, leaving behind little, to no evidence, of their atrocities.

differences between a 'yahoo boy' and a 'fraud boy

They are both fraudulent people, but the modern realities of pop culture mean setting them apart matters.

Yahoo boys have become a challenging part of Nigerian society. Their fraudulent activities, profligate lifestyle and the schemes pulled by international syndicates have made them the focus of anti-crime agencies in Nigeria and around the world.

The global wealth generation system of illegality and illegally obtained wealth will forever hold a staple across the world.

As such, the global wealth obtained from drugs, prostitution, trafficking, counterfeiting, bootlegging and other forms of illegality will forever be in discussion.

In Nigeria, asides the drug boys, cross-carpeting countries with kilograms of powders and minute liquid substances in vials, and the corruption of highly placed politicians, fraud is the more accessible and easily perpetrated illegality that births money by the masses.

In the 70s and 80s, the term “419” was coined as a descriptive for the old fraud boys, off the section that punishes fraud under the old criminal laws of of Nigeria. The term became a staple of Nigerian expression and pop culture forever.

Internet birthed 'Yahoo boys' and 'G boys'

The emergence of the internet as a positive would also birth a negative — it abridged the gap of accessibility to the custodians of dollars, euros and pound war-chests across the western hemisphere.

The narrative was to change forever, and youth culture would never remain the same.

While 419 took courage and greater meticulousness and higher costs, yahoo — its internet-afforded offspring was easier and only needed negative influence, cheap internet accessibility and indirect peer pressure to increase its followers.

Since the turn of the millennium, more Nigerians under 30 than we care to admit have gone the dark part of Yahoo, but through it all, 419 has remained steadfast, albeit in underground hushed tunes, perpetrated by the courageous under the rebrand, 'fraud boys'.

Thus, there is a difference. While Yahoo and 419 are under the big umbrella of ‘fraud,’ Nigerian pop culture refers more to 419 activities as ‘fraud’ than ‘Yahoo’ or ‘G’.

So what is the difference?

Yahoo or G is more the internet based scamming arm of fraud. Though it might require some identity theft or faux images and even phone number foul play, it is mostly internet based.

Though yahoo boys might have now exceeded the usual standards of establishing fake relationships and cooking up sad stories online to outright military pension and entitlement theft, there’s still a difference.

419 or fraud is slightly more complex. It usually involves the face-to-face conversations that sell fake oil deals, undertake white collar crimes, classic art — that runs in 7 figures — theft or even straight digital bank robberies.

Let's just say fraud is slightly riskier.

Where a Yahoo boy is trying to convince some 62-year old white woman to ‘give it up,’ a fraud boy is chatting face-to-face with a 26-year old Dubai capitalist as an oil baron from Angola.

He is also showing his depth of knowledge and vast ideas to convince whoever is before him that he’s 'the real deal.'

George Clooney as Danny Ocean from the 'Ocean's' franchise and Matt Bommer as Neal Caffrey on the Tv Show, 'White Collar'  (Meme Generator/Twitter)

In more pop culture friendly manner, if you want a strict difference; Danny Ocean from the Ocean’s Eleven or Neal Caffrey from White Collar would be fraud boys.

Whatever movie Odunlade Adekola plays a yahoo boy would be the example of a yahoo boy.

Fraud is far riskier than Yahoo and it requires greater depth and intelligence whereas, most Yahoo Boys can’t construct a simple, correct English sentence.

Asides the not-so-visible differences between a Yahoo boy and a fraud boy, there are the visible differences between them.

The shared, yet unspoken ideas in each faction is actually very baffling.

But before we examine them, we have to admit that sometimes, they can overlap.

Asides fundamental difference from their respective fields, here are the visible differences in appearance, culture, and character;

1.) Fraud boys nor dey shout like Yahoo Boys

80% of the time, you can pick a Yahoo boy out of a crowd. It seems there’s a standard they all adhere to from some mystical general mentality they all have in what is, ‘good’.

Where a Yahoo boy might dress in a very conspicuous way with gold chains, flashy props, most fraud boys are more of chameleons.

Part of his job description is the requirement to blend into crowds. Thus, fraud boys might also spend in clubs, but they don’t make blog news and attain social media notoriety like their G brothers.

The Yahoo boy starter pack  (Pulse )

Fraud boys also enjoy the flashy lifestyle, but they understand the gifts of minimalism. They’re also more polished.

This begs the question of why the general realities within each of these two factions share similarities. While Yahoo Boys adhere to a standard, Fraud boys also have theirs.

Fraud boys might also use crazy cars, but they give off the impression of noblemen than most Yahoo Boys.

On matters of character, fraud boys tend to be more laid back. You barely see a fraud boy with tinted hair or crazy jeans.

The flamboyantly stylish Nicky Barnes  (Sanjha Video)

Fraud boys are usually more Frank Lucas than Nicky Barnes.

Is it a part of the job description? Nobody knows.

2.) Fraud boys are generally richer than Yahoo Boys

Fraud boys might only make money three times in a year or even one time, but that payday off stealing people’s sweat and blood, throwing generations of their victims into penury shake banks or vaults.

The goal of fraud, but some have it more than others  (YouTube)

Some Yahoo Boys, however, make money daily or even weekly, but theirs are usually under one thousand dollars. Fraud boys tend to cash 8 figures in Dollars, Euros or Pounds at one go.

3.) Fraud boys are more unknowingly accepted in the society than Yahoo Boys

Fraud boys usually blend in and have cover jobs for when the ‘gods of fraud’ halt their rain of mercy. Society thus tends to be unsuspecting, at least till they’re seen blowing money fast in a strip club.

Due to how easily they can be discerned from regular people, Yahoo Boys are always perceived with cynicism, at least until people want money from them.

4.) Fraud boys are more vicious and vengeful than yahoo boys

To don’t want to cross a fraud boy.

While Yahoo Boys settle differences over cold drinks and even share same women and drink from the same cup, fraud boys are more like drug dealers when they’re offended.

They take disrespect and betrayal very seriously. They could also land their vicious gavel of gruesome deaths on whoever offends them.

Right, Real life Pablo Escobar Gaviria and Left, The Escobar on TV Show, "Narcos"  (Allocine)

A Yahoo boy does not even want to cross a fraud boy. When you think about a fraud boy in this light, think Pablo Escobar.

5.) You barely see real fraud Boys doing Yahoo, but Yahoo Boys dabble in fraud

For a Yahoo boy, fraud money is the ultimate. You could even retire early on one fraud payday. That is why Yahoo Boys dabble in fraud.

Fraud boys, on the other hand, see yahoo money as beneath them. What is $1000 to someone who has made $12 million at one go? Nothing.

Most fraud boys really don’t entertain the concept of Yahoo due to ego, but it’s mostly a human thing.

It’s like telling someone who has enjoyed Coutinho to manage Ozil in 2018. It’s not going to happen.
