True story behind Valentine

Valentine is all about the exchange of gifts and romance,
right? Well, it is not so.
It all started with a kind-hearted, humble priest named
Valentine. During his time, there was an emperor in Rome
named Claudius who persecuted/tortured Christians. He
made a law that prohibited marriages and engagements in
Rome. This is because he had difficulty getting soldiers to
join his military leagues. Claudius believed that Roman
men were unwilling to join the army because of their
strong attachment to their wives and families. He also
reasoned that single men made better soldiers and fought
better than those with wives, saying that if they are
married, they would be afraid of what might happen to
their wives and family if they died in battle. So, he banned
marriage for young men.
Valentine, realising the injustice of the decree, defied
Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young
lovers in secret. Valentine was eventually caught,
imprisoned and tortured for performing marriage
ceremonies against the command of Emperor Claudius
and for protecting Christians.
While in prison, Valentine met Asterius, who was to judge
him in line with the Roman law at the time. Asterius had a
daughter named Julia who was blind. Valentine prayed
and healed the young girl. This had an astonishing effect
on Asterius, who became a Christian as a result.
In the year 269 AD, Valentine was sentenced to a three-
part execution of a beating, stoning, and finally beheaded,
all because of his stand for Christian marriage.
Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote Julia a letter
signed “From your Valentine,” this inspired today’s
romantic expression- ‘your valentine’. It was said that the
content of his letter was an advice to Julia that she
should be very close to God.
Saint Valentine’s martyrdom (death) has not gone
unnoticed by the general public; although many people
celebrate valentine without any understanding of what it
means and what it stands for. We find people, especially
the young ones celebrating it the wrong way- they see it
as a time to get a man/woman/boy/girl to celebrate with
by doing all kinds of ungodly things- if Saint Valentine was
alive, I believe he will not be happy, the way people have
misunderstood his sacrifice for humanity to sustain
reproduction through marriage. Most people are not
learning the lesson of self-sacrifice in fulfilment of one’s
destiny which valentine stands for.
The celebration of Saint Valentine did not have any
romantic connotations until sometimes later in the 14th
century, when people started to make it a romantic
celebration. Earlier beliefs were focused
on sacrifice rather than romantic love.
Lessons:
1. The idea of encouraging young lovers to marry within
the Christian church was what Saint Valentine stood
for, he didn’t encourage sexual immorality at all.
Rather, his action was to discourage sex outside
marriage and all kinds of immorality which botht
married and single have now turned valentine to
mean.
2. He performed marriages for those ready for marriage,
knowing that sex outside of marriage is a sin against
one’s body and against God.
3. Valentine was a saint and not a sinner- why then do
people make him seem like an encourager of sin by
celebrating him in sin.
4. If you’re not married then desist from sex. If married,
be faithful to your husband/wife. This is what
Valentine stands for-
5. Valentine is about doing God’s will. God Himself
instituted marriage, not premarital sex and other
sexual activities outside marriage. Valentine upholds
God’s wish for people who are willing, to marry and
have children.
6. Saint Valentine healed Julia, the blind girl and her
Father became a Christian- Why aren’t people believing
God for such power to do good, and God being
glorified through them, making many to come to
believe in Jesus?
7. Saint Valentine gave his life so that young couples
could be bonded together in holy matrimony. They may
have killed the man, but not his spirit. Valentine
teaches sacrifice for the right thing, even unto death.
Willing to do the right thing at all times. Why are we
not learning this lesson?
8. Centuries after his death, the story of Valentine’s self-
sacrifice and commitment was legendary in Rome. You
too should live a life committed to a good course and
the world will remember you for good.
9. Whenever valentine is celebrated, ask yourself- what
good thing have I accomplished for my generation that
I will be remembered for after my death? You are not
too small to begin to do great exploits for God, exploits
that will change your generation for good. Start from
where you are, it may start little but it will grow with
time. Peace!!!
Eventually, he was granted sainthood and the Catholic
Church decided to create a feast in his honour. They
picked February 14 as the day of celebration.
Think of fulfilling your God-given destiny on earth- that’s
the message of Valentine.

DEAR MARRIED LADY

DEAR MARRIED LADY

1. Dear Married Lady, Holy wives don't just speak in tongues. They cook super meals, they raise godly kids, wear hot dresses(for their husbands), they have mind blowing sex & still make Heaven.

2. Dear Married Lady, Forget about changing your husband. Just be an upgraded version of you with more value and sweetness.

3. Dear Married Lady, Look at your Husband with the lenses of righteousness in Christ Jesus. He may have some wrong doings but do not focus on the wrong doings but rather focus on the Christ in him. In other words, focus on his positives and not the negatives. Do this in wisdom!

4. Dear Married Lady, Familiarity has the tendency of taking things for granted: our family and especially our husbands
Replace nagging with appreciation!

5. Dear Married Lady, Be the number one FAN of your husband. Support him in all his interest. Ensure you decree greatness in all his endeavours. Don't allow other ladies to do this for you. Be the first and best at this.

6. Dear Married Lady, As Christ is Love so are you. As Christ is forgiveness so are you. Do not punish your Husband with tight jeans. Let him give you some massage or buy you something nice. You are not a fool! You care for your marriage.

7. Dear Married Lady, Decide that loving is intentional and intentionally love your partner. Find out what love means to your partner and give it. Don't assume a common definition of love. What is love to you may not be for him
Portray the love he yearns.

8. Dear Married Lady, In this age where technology is supposed to break homes, use this same technology to build your home. Text your husband some hot messages as a shadow of the things awaiting him at home.

9. Dear Married lady, Don't focus on the competition outside the home and get bitter. You are not the only Lady who Loves your husband. Focus on your Husband and
give him the best of treatment always; especially when you think he doesn't deserve it.

10. Dear Married Ladies, Don't become a prison for your husband. When it gets to the point where he needs space grant it to Him. There is freedom in true love. Over protective love is false and destructive. Use those periods to better yourself. Get the most sexiest look. Be your sweetest self when he returns home. You are always the winner.

11. Dear Married Woman, Be the curious and Creative type.
Don't be shy to initiate lovemaking. Wear sexy lingeries does not mean you are spoilt or demon possessed. Join in the creativity, make your marriage fun. Afterwards blow in tongues together!

12. Dear Married Lady, Challenges may come in your marriage. Instead of letting it tatter you, you decide to make the best, look your best, love your best in the face of challenges. Guess what the Christ in you is the best. So you can't be any less.

13. Dear Married Lady, the fact that you have four kids does not mean let your body look 20 years older. You can start small. Discipline yourself. Check your weight. Don't eat junk food. Take brisk walks! Exercise your body and be in Lady,

14. Dear Married Lady, Christianity is not the end of descent hot fashion. Christianity is not tagged with old ladyship. That you wear a Long gown does not mean you are holy. Dress well. Be neat. Look presentable. Let the young ladies check you up for the latest descent trend!

15. Dear Married Lady, even when you're tired, be sensitive to your man's bedly needs. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. Don't lazy yourself in front of him. It's a bad signal. Be in readiness to satisfy Him at all times. Don't give him reasons to look elsewhere.

16. A woman of Grace who can find? She has a heart of gold. Gives her best even in the worst. She Loves like no Love other even at the most undeserving times.

17. She is love. She is forgiveness. She is support. She is prayer. She is wisdom. She is your dream lover. She mothers the world. She is as Jesus is, so precious. She is loyal and strongly soaked in the word. She Rightly fits everywhere.

NIGERIAN GOSPEL SINGER ERIC ARUBAYI’S DIED AFTER DRINKING EXPIRED DRUGS

While the Nigerian music industry still struggles to come to
terms with the untimely death of Eric Arubayi, new reports
suggest that it may have been as a result of expired
medication he took for malaria fever.
The Delta State-born second runner up of the maiden edition
of the West Africa Idol, died at a hospital in Delta State over
the weekend.
Confirming the demise of the gospel artiste, his brother,
Derrick Arubayi, in an exclusive chat with Vanguard, explained
that the late Eric took ill after taking an expired drug meant
to treat his malaria and typhoid ailment.
He said: “He had malaria and typhoid, which was untreated. It
later became worse after he took a medication that had expired
and this triggered his liver ailment and afterwards, every other
thing just followed at a fast pace before his death.
The only thing that we had to say is that he lived for Christ. We
just want the world to know that the name Eric Odafe Arubayi
was for a reason beyond the West Africa Idol show.
For that reason, God would make manifest even beyond his
glorious ascension.”
The scourge of fake/expired drugs has been an issue Nigeria
has been dealing with for a long time. A 2015 NOI poll
revealed that 18% of Nigerians have been victims of fake and
expired medication.
The late musical icon, born on July 14, 1982, is survived by
his wife, a son, who would be two in a few months, two
brothers, a sister and parents— Professor and Professor
(Mrs) Eric Arubayi.
